macro nutrients

Q:What does, "hitting your macros" mean?

A:Macros is short for Macro nutrients, which represents "protein, carbs, and fats."

Macro, meaning "large" represents the nutrients you get in large quantities, like protein, carbs and fats; since they're are typically measured in "grams".

Micro(micro nutrients), meaning "small" represents the nutrients you get in small quantities, such as vitamins, since these are typically measured in "milligrams".

Hitting your macros simply means reaching the quantity of macro nutrients you want to consume for the day. This is based on how many calories you want to consume for the day; those calories are broken down into Macro nutrients.
